Earth Hour 2014

Be a superhero for the planet
Earth Hour is NOT about an hour, it’s about showing your care about the future of our brilliant planet, in everything we do.

This year is unprecedent, I'm not talking about Spider-man's endorsement for earth hour, I'm talking about our daily lives, the environment, the weather. If you would have noticed, the weather has gone extreme since January. While places like Japan and US had experienced fierce winter storms, the weather in Hong Kong was even colder than Sochi, where the Winter Olympics 2014 was held; Before entering to extreme summer in February, the tropical countries such as Malaysia had experienced a dip in temperatures in January.

During these extreme weather, we human beings can hide indoor, with the air-condition/heater on, life goes on. What about the animals out there? What about the trees, the plants, the mother earth? They are innocent, but they have to surfer the severe weather, they have no hideouts, no exception. Simple, just switch off the air-condition or heater during the earth hour, you'll understand.

Seriously, who cares about spider-man if the weather is unbearable to live in. Spider-man can't change the fact that everyone of us had contributed to the accelerated rate of global warming and climate change. Earth Hour is not about celebrating the hour in concert (yes, they always have concerts in the name of Earth Hour), it is about caring the environment.

Like I've said in 2011, I'm not a supporter of Earth Hour, for I believe that it is a lifetime commitment to mother earth, not just an hour of the year. It is everyone's responsibilities to help save the earth, if not, at least contribute less harm to the environment.

Be a hero for the planet, for your children, if not for yourself.
